The City of Florence, Kentucky Fire/EMS Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, have a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or its equivalent. Must be 18 years of age at the time of application. Must be certified by the Kentucky Fire Commission as having completed 150-hour Firefighter Certification or have an equivalent certification from another state or nationally recognized accrediting agency. Eligible applicants must possess current KY or National Registry Paramedic certification. Consideration will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in paramedic school.
Must meet current Kentucky CPAT* requirements and complete PEP test, as well as further assessments consisting of oral interview, psychological assessment, and physical exam with drug/alcohol screen upon acceptance. Starting Salary- $57,477 (plus $4000 state incentive when eligible)
Lateral Salary Range (depending on qualifying experience)- $57,477--$62,215 (plus $4,000 state incentive when eligible)
To potentially qualify as a lateral Firefighter/Paramedic, you must have a minimum of two years of full time employment with a Fire/EMS department, be a KY or Nationally registered paramedic, possess IFSAC Firefighter I and II or KY 400 Hr certifications, and meet current CPAT* requirements.
*Please note that CPAT requirements have been temporarily suspended due to the COVID 19 pandemic. These requirements will be re-instituted following the lifting of the governor's executive order. Applicants will then have a period of time to meet the KY CPAT requirements.
