Kentucky Server Training in Alcohol Regulations Information


The mission of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is to ensure alcohol and tobacco products are available only to legally eligible persons and sold and served in a safe environment while also:

1. Maintaining a controlled distribution system
2. Providing education and enforcement to prevent misuse
3. Enforcing laws to stop sales to underage individuals

The Education Branch of the ABC developed and implemented a training program for retailers and their employees called STAR – Server Training in Alcohol Regulations.  This training educates the individual on the responsibilities and liabilities as well as potential identification issues or over-serving individuals.  The 4 hour online or classroom course will provide the trainee with a certification from the Commonwealth of Kentucky valid for three (3) years.  Click here to read more about the STAR program, register for STAR classes, apply for STAR scholarship or information regarding any of the ABC programs by using the following link:
