FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS
NiBlack Senior Center
Project Description: Hub & Weber designed the improvements for the Senior Center located off of NiBlack Memorial Drive. The new facility will be 8,700 square-feet on a 4.6 acre lot. The Senior Center will include a kitchen and service area capable of preparing 100 meals, multi-purpose rooms, a wellness room and a computer room. In addition, the building will use energy-efficient technology. The project was awarded to Mark Spaulding Construction.
Current Status: Construction during the month of April included audio/video installation, doors/hardware installation, security system wiring, kitchen equipment installation, flooring installation, final coat painting, and landscaping.
Tentative Completion Date: May / June 2012

Amherst Court, Collingwood Court, Imperial Court, Stratford Court, and Wellington Drive
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the street improvements in the Wellington Area. The improvements include the asphalt overlay of these streets and storm sewer drainage improvements throughout.
Current Status: Contractor bids were opened during the month of April. Construction will begin after July 1st, 2012.
Beverly Place and Dorcas Avenue
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the street improvements along Beverly Place and Dorcas Avenue. The improvements include the asphalt overlay of these streets.

Fescue Court and Red Clover Court
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the street improvements along Fescue Court and Red Clover Court. The improvements include the asphalt overlay of these streets.

Hollywood Drive and Anchor Way
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the street improvements along Hollywood Drive and Anchor Way. The improvements include the asphalt overlay of these streets.

Hopeful Road & Rosetta Drive
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the street improvements along Hopeful Road and Rosetta Drive. The improvements include the asphalt overlay of these streets and storm sewer drainage improvements throughout.

Lexington Avenue and Virginia Avenue
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the street improvements along Lexington Avenue and Virginia Avenue. The improvements include the complete concrete replacement of these streets and storm sewer drainage improvements throughout.
Current Status: Contractor bids were opened during the month of April. Construction will begin after July 1st, 2012.
Turfway Road Streetscape Improvements
Project Description: Jacobs Engineering designed the improvements for Turfway Road. The project proposes to fully landscape medians with street trees, shrubs, groundcovers and install street furniture throughout to make it a more pedestrian friendly experience. The project will enhance the appearance and image of Turfway Road and support the commercial revitalization activities within this corridor, as well as improve pedestrian access and make the corridor more desirable for walking and transit use. The project was awarded to Prus Construction.
244 Trees, 728 Shrubs, 952 Groundcovers/Grasses and 5 benches will be installed.
Current Status: The current construction includes the grading and preparation of the middle islands located near the interstate ramps. Tree planting throughout also started during late April.
Tentative Completion Date: July 2012
SANITARY SEWER PROJECTS
No "Contracted" Sanitary Sewer Improvement Projects are currently under construction.

STORM WATER PROJECTS
Meadow Wood Storm Sewer Improvements
Project Description: Viox & Viox designed the project for the storm sewer improvements along Meadow Wood. The improvements include the installation of storm sewer along the side of the property that abuts the farm at the end of Meadow Wood. The improvements will eliminate the ponding / flooding at the end of Meadow Wood.
Current Status: Webb’s Excavating is currently under construction.
Tentative Completion Date: June 2012
PARK & RECREATIONAL PROJECTS
Stringtown Park Restroom
Project Description: Hub & Weber designed the improvements for the Stringtown Park restroom located off KY 18 between Kathryn Avenue and Wallace Avenue. The improvements include the installation of a 245 square foot building.
Current Status: Mark Spaulding Construction was awarded with the project. The start date will be established during the month of May after Florence has met with the contractor.
