  1. Are dogs allowed in the parks without a leash?

    No. The ordinance states dogs must be on a leash at all times while in city parks and owner must pick up after their dog.

  2. How do I report vandalism or a criminal act occurring in the park or at a city facility?

    Call 911 to report vandalism or any suspicious acts. There is also a non-emergency number (859) 371-1234  that goes directluu.u

  3. What are the park hours?

    Parks open at dawn & close at dusk.

  4. Where can I purchase a membership to the Florence Family Aquatic Center?

    Memberships are available to purchase the Friday after Thanksgiving at 10% discount until the April 30th the following year at the Florence Government Center’s Finance Department. All membership categories (Resident, Non-Resident and Business) are eligible. Memberships are sold at the Florence Family Aquatic Center beginning Memorial Day Weekend until July 31st.

  5. Where can I find City events scheduled in Florence throughout the year?

    The Florence Community & Business Guide is an annual book that is mailed to Florence households and can be found on the home page or it can be found here .

  6. How can I become a sponsor for a City event?

    Sponsorships are available for City events for entertainment (face painters, balloon artists, caricatures, rental games, etc…) refreshments, fireworks, bands or prizes.  Complete the sponsorship form affiliated with the event of your choice and submit form and donation (made payable to: City of Florence) by the designated deadline date.  Provide a banner or logo to display during the event by deadline date.  The following events have sponsorship opportunities: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Program, Independence Day Celebration, Pooch Fest, Halloween Night Out, and Christmas Tree Lighting.

  7. How do I apply for employment at the Florence Family Aquatic Center?

  9. How do I get hiker/biker trail maps?

    The park trail maps will be located at the kiosk of each park and can be downloaded off the web site. Go to the Parks and Recreation page and click Trail System.

  10. How do I register for recreation programs?

    Download the registration form from the Parks and Recreation Programs page, complete it & return by fax to (859) 647-5438, mail to 8100 Ewing Boulevard, Florence, KY 41042 c/o Parks & Recreation, or stop in Public Services Department Between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.  A confirmation via letter or phone will follow.
