Incident Statistics
2010 was a record year for emergency responses within the City of Florence and Florence Fire Protection District. Florence Fire/EMS Department responded to a total of 8590 calls for help. This is a 5.9% increase over previous year. Fire/Rescue responses totaled 2599 for a 6.4% increase and Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responses totaled 5991 for a 5.7% increase. Of these responses, 2532 were categorized as immediately “life threatening” incidents to which Paramedics provided definitive medical care.
