We are "THE FLORENCE COMMUNITY CHORUS". We would like to
get to know you. Our group is a four-part men and
women’s choral group, and we just love to sing. Many of
you out there probably like to sing also, so this letter
is an invitation for you to join our group.
We are sponsored by the City of Florence and meet in the
lower level of the Florence Government Center on Ewing
Blvd. on Thursday Evenings to practice. Practice starts
promptly at 7:30 p.m. and lasts until 9:00 p.m.
Our director is Don Whitis. We have about fourty members
and are looking for another thirty or thirty-five more.
We welcome all voice ranges and are especially in need
of tenors and altos. We sing all kinds of music and
perform for city and community functions, business
groups, hospitals, nursing homes, churches and private
parties.
The chorus is open to anyone age 18 or older. There are
no auditions, and you don’t have to be a Florence
resident to join. Many of us cannot read music, so that
is not a requirement.
Won’t you join us on Thursday Evenings and see what you
think! You might like us, and we know that we will like
you.
For further information and details either to join the
group or to book a concert, you may call our President,
Gayle Spjut, at (859) 657-6541. You may also reach us by
e-mail at
florchorus@gmail.com or
