The Public Services
Department maintains and manages twenty-three City owned
buildings. These buildings contain approximately 180,000
square feet of space. The Department defines buildings
as the actual structure and does not include the grounds
area of the property. Management responsibilities vary
from building to building depending upon use and tenant
agreements. Maintenance responsibilities include: HVAC
systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, elevator,
management of equipment service and maintenance
contracts, fountains, suppliers lists, fire alarm
systems, sprinkler systems, and communications and data
systems, cleaning, minor repairs, painting, and capital
upgrades. Since each building is unique, all of these
responsibilities are not required on all of the
buildings.
This building is the largest and
most complex structure for which the Department is
responsible. The two story concrete and steel structure
building contains 58,500 square feet of space. The

Public Services, Finance, Information Technology and
City Clerk/Human Resources. The building also houses the
council chambers and a large multi-purpose community
room. In addition, several tenants lease space in the
building. These tenants include the Boone County Public
Safety Communications Center, One Stop of Northern
Kentucky offices, Owen Electric Cooperative and the
Boone County Clerk and Circuit Clerk satellite offices.

exterior fountain, both of which require periodic
maintenance.
